About Creative Drama

The Creative Drama class is for ages 4 to 7. In this dynamic introductory class, young actors explore storytelling through imagination, movement, and play.

On the first day, each child shares a character they’d love to play and an original, age-appropriate short script is written just for them! Every weekly session combines fun drama games, foundational improvisation, a themed craft, and show rehearsal. The program concludes with a final showcase for family and friends, complete with costumes and props to bring their characters to life. Class fees cover all expenses.

Some elements that make our program unique compared to other, similar programs are:

• Every child has a chance to design their own character

• Director Chelsey Kolenda is an experienced educator, and utilizes proven teaching techniques to bring the best out of every child in a nurturing, supportive way

• Scripts use leading narration to remain age appropriate and eliminate the need for improvisation

• We write our own scripts based on the imagination and suggestions of the young actors in order to best fit each group

• Our company is inclusive and open to all children

• Each class opens with a fun arts and crafts activity, to help set the stage for class and tap into a different side of young actors imaginations

• We value the work and growth that happens off stage just as much as the performance shown on the stage

This program runs Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Each program session costs $200 and includes eight classes.
