About the Play Performance Program

The play performance program is for ages 8 to 16. In this program, participants go through the process of putting on a real production - step by step! After being cast in their roles on the first day of class, actors spend each week rehearsing - learning blocking, character development and stage technique. Then, they perform the play for the public with props, custom costumes, photography, sound, lighting, and makeup. Class fees cover all expenses.

Some elements that make our program unique compared to other, similar programs are:

  • Every participant receives a significant role in the production

  • Director Chelsey Kolenda is an experienced educator, and utilizes proven teaching techniques to bring the best out of every child in a nurturing, supportive way

  • Our productions are not musicals

  • We write our own scripts based on classic stories in order to best fit each cast

Snow White - May 6th to August 8th - registration now open (13 spots left)

Snow White will run from May 6th to August 8th. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:30. There will be three Saturday rehearsals from 12 pm to 4 pm on July 18th, July 25th and August 1st.

Students will perform at both 2 pm and 7 pm on August 8th, with a Snow White themed pizza party in between.

This class costs $450 for early bird registration (registration before April 1st) and $500 for regular pricing. This includes all production expenses (all rehearsals, two complimentary tickets to the show, makeup, photography, costumes and props, lighting and sound, and pizza party). The cost is payable with a $100 deposit to secure your spot and then an instalment of $100 a month.

Neverland - October 1st to April 25th - rehearsals underway

Neverland will run from October 1st to April 25th. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:30. There will be three Saturday rehearsals from 12 pm to 4 pm on April 4th, 11th and 18th.

Students will perform at both 2 pm and 7 pm on April 25th, with a Peter Pan themed pizza party in between.

This class costs $800 for early bird registration (registration before September 1st) and $850 for regular pricing. This includes all production expenses (all rehearsals, two complimentary tickets to the show, makeup, photography, costumes and props, lighting and sound, and pizza party). The cost is payable with a $100 deposit to secure your spot and then an instalment of $100 a month.

This program is in the middle of rehearsals and registration is closed.
