About Improv

The Improv class is for ages 8 to 16. In this fun and empowering class, both new and experienced actors can build their confidence, learn to think on their feet and explore the fundamentals of improvisation (i.e. acting without a script)!

Every weekly session includes warm ups, drama games, and improvisational exercises designed to stretch every performer’s comfort zone, in a supportive environment. The program concludes with a final showcase for family and friends, where actors can display their new skills and involve the audience in their favourite games. Class fees cover all expenses.

Some reasons to choose our improv program over other, similar programs are:

• A focus on improv means there is no lines to memorize, no auditions, and no wrong answers! Actors are free to grow their skills and explore their creativity in a low-pressure environment

• Instructors are masters at not only teaching theatrical skills but also nurturing the gifts within each performer

• Improv teaches participants to be able to think on their feet and respond in the moment - skills that are useful both on and off the stage

• Time is set aside in each class for purposeful positive recognition of each performer by both the instructor and their fellow participants

• Our company is inclusive and open to all children

• Improv is a high-energy and fast-moving class, with an emphasis on fun

• We value the work and growth that happens off stage just as much as the performance shown on the stage

This program runs Monday evenings from 5:15 to 6:45 pm. Each program session costs $250 and includes nine classes.
